“I learned to cycle a bike at a young age and I loved the freedom and the excitement of exploring new places that my bike gave me.”
I spent most of my early working life in a corporate environment. Although I enjoyed my experiences in the various fields I worked in, something was always missing. After being made redundant and a brief time of being unemployed, I decided on a whim to apply for a job as a tour guide in my home city of Dublin. I always had an interest in history and I am a very proud Dubliner so with everything crossed I gave it a go. I found out very quickly that I loved it. I loved everything about being a guide, from the people you meet , to showing the city I love so much to visitors and locals.
I worked with that company for nearly 5 years and I have to say I loved every minute of it. It really taught me my trade. But there was something inside me eating away and that was – how could this be better?? Around this time I had also got back into cycling, which I had not been doing as much of because of work pressures in the past. That’s when I realised how I could make things better.
“I still get the same feeling of excitement getting on a bike today as I did when I first learned to cycle all those year ago.”
I spent the best part of two years looking into opening The Lazy Bike Tour Company. I wanted to make sure that I could find the right bikes and that I could find safe routes around Dublin that would make the experience for all level of riders enjoyable.
Very soon it went from “I” to “we”. I have to say we are a great team, we all agree our aim is to make your visit with us as enjoyable as possible and share our passion of this great city we live in.
Hugh Flood, Guide & Founder The Lazy Bike Tour Company.

I did this tour with John, who was very knowledgeable and took me around to various iconic areas of Dublin, including Dublin Castle, St. Patrick’s Cathedral and Christchurch Cathedral. We would stop at the locations and he’d tell me some history about the location/area.
“Great way to see the City!”

Nothing lazy about this tour. It’s a great way to see the City and hear from a lovely guide (Rosalinda). Her tour was well researched a told with great authority. Lazy, would have been bus tour. This is authentic Dublin, cobbles, Guinness, St Patrick and mostly quiet roads and fresh air.
“Fun and informative, Thanks!”

Just spent a very wet and windy Sunday morning with Rosalinda, what an amazing experience. The bikes are good, the craic is great and the tour is well worth while. Great way to see the City (even in the pouring rain), really friendly and very knowledgeable. Great fun and highly recommended.
“So much fun”

This has to be the funnest way to see Dublin. Hugh was our guide and made the tour interesting and hilarious at the same time. The bikes were extremely comfortable and as a first time e-bike user, I have now been converted and want one.

This bike co has it all figured out!! 1) ELECTRIC BIKES. Yes, it’s fantastic. It’s fun. 2) The tour itself: very interested, covered a lot of ground, safe. 3) John our guide! Funny, knowledgeable. SKIP the hop-on-hop-off tours in Dublin. Not worth it. Bike tour is better x 10!
“First Class Fun!”

We had a tremendous time with Lazy Bike Tours. The electric assisted bikes allowed everyone to easily climb hills. John was great fun and extremely knowledgeable of Irish history. I highly recommend this company!
“Fantastic”

This was one of the highlights of our trip to Dublin. Great guide, took time to explain all about “The Troubles” in Ireland and the monuments. Equipment price very, very good for about 3 hours. Saw parts of Dublin we never would have gone to if it hadn’t been for this tour. Told us about some great pubs.
“Amazing trip”

I was worried as I don’t ride bikes, but this trip with electric assist bikes was amazing. I could have rode all day ! Our guide was awesome – learned so much and made it fun at the same time. If your are in Dublin this is a must. You see all the big sites and learn so much in the process.
