Fuel up on some fab food in the area!
My name is Marta Kozimor. I am a new intern here at the Lazy Bike Tours. The blog is pretty much covered in cobwebs so it’s time to change that. I noticed that most of our tour attendees ask for food recommendations so I decided to put together a list of all my favorite spots for good food and coffee. After burning some calories on our bike tour, fuel up and regenerate for further adventures around the city.
First up is this beauty. Best rated restaurant in Dublin for a reason. If you’re feeling fancy, pop down to the Fire restaurant down at Dawson Street. Great service, delicious food, and the outstanding decor will make you feel like a hundred bucks. Oh, and did I mention how good their Buffalo Ricotta Cheesecake is?
If you’re a fan of Mexican food and a funky, cozy place where you know for sure will leave you fed and satisfied then the 777 restaurant is the place for you! It’s located on the South Great George’s street which is only a 6-minute walk from our Lazy Bike Tour company.
Another great restaurant located on Dawson Street. A fan of steak? I sure am! A small restaurant in a great location with a simple (yet effective) menu. This is probably the only restaurant I visit at least once a month and I’m never disappointed.
The Ultimate place for breakfast and lunch. They serve good coffee too! Another food place on Dawson Street. It’s very close to our Lazy Bikes so if you’re feeling hungry after our tour or wish to try the famous “Irish breakfast”, you know where to go. The only downside? You could be waiting for a table as it’s so busy.
As much as I love meat, I get sick of it sometimes. Cornucopia is a vegetarian and wholefood restaurant located on Wicklow Street. It’s also great if you are a coeliac or require a gluten-free diet. Don’t worry, you’re not signing up for just fruit and green leaves. The food will leave you full yet light, even after stuffing yourself with the gluten-free chocolate and hazelnut brownies, that happen to be my all-time favourite.
Dessert isn’t my only weakness. My love for a good cup of coffee is so much bigger than that! The places below are my all time favourite:
- Mochaland Cafe- 20 Ormond Quay Lower, North City, Dublin 1
- Queen of Tarts- Cow’s Ln, Dame St, Temple Bar, Dublin 2
- Dwarf Jar Cafe- Grattan House, 1 Wellington Quay, Temple Bar, Dublin 2
- Joy of Cha-10 Essex St E, Temple Bar, Dublin 2
- Tamp & Stitch- Essex St W, Temple Bar, Dublin
I won’t go on about how great each one of them is as they’re all outstanding. Instead, I’ll let you try them and see for yourself. You’ll just have to trust me on that one.
